Time Piece VIII

Time Piece VIII: 22 – 28 February 2016
98.5 cm x 19 – 18cm

Week 8 – 22 February 2016 / Monday
25cm x 20 cm – (s 6mm plastic)
double yarn – knit

IMG_2834I cast on early in the morning but did not actually knit until I got to R’s after 8pm for our monthly ‘Full Moon Lovin’ Gathering. I knitted for a couple of hours during the social evening. I thought it would be a good way to keep my hands busy and that it might mean that I indulged less with the treats on the table in front if us…but that was not the case…
I shared my project with everyone there as well. C and I talked again about meeting up to knit together.
Earlier in the day I worked on my blog a bit.

Week 8 – 23 February 2016 / Tuesday
13 cm x 17 cm– (s 6mm plastic)
double yarn –purl

IMG_2835I used the orange yarn today.
I went to The Wool Basket and bought my March ‘lead’ yarn…finally made the decision of which colour – a fairly bright turquoise in a thin cotton yarn.
I decided I want to do a swatch at the end of each month with the left over yarn from the ‘lead’ yarn.

Week 8 – 24 February 2016 / Wednesday
9 cm x 20 cm – (s 6mm plastic)
double yarn – knit

IMG_2836The yellow, textured yarn was difficult with the 6mm needles because it felt really thick. I didn’t start knitting until 8pm.
I also updated the website and tried to send a bulk email out to lots of people with announcing my new blog but it did not work. Interesting exercise to list who I wanted to share the blog with at this time.

Week 8 – 25 February 2016 / Thursday
14 cm x 18 cm – (s 6mm plastic)
double yarn –purl

IMG_2833IMG_2837I waited until evening while watching TV to knit, using the pea green yarn I have. I knitted for approx. 1 hour with my cat, Luna, on my chest and the lights down low. I was aware of the comfortable feeling of weight while knitting – not from Luna, but from the knitting deep into the width of the Time Piece. It feels different from knitting earlier on in the length of the swatch.

Still thinking about things I have forgotten to mention in my blog so far…
I Googled ‘How to knit triangles’ and came up with what looks like a very simple pattern for knitting bunting! Very excited to try this out…www.instructables.com

Week 8 – 26 February 2016 / Friday
16cm x 17.5cm – (s 6mm plastic)
double yarn – knit

I spent a lot of time this evening untangling the yellow yarn of yesterday from the Feb lead yarn and from itself and re-rolling it onto a toilet paper cardboard roll.

Then I knitted…with my aquamarine blue yarn.

Week 8 – 27 February 2016 / Saturday
16 cm x 17 cm – (s 6 mm plastic)
double yarn –purl

Lots of tangles again. 25 Minutes of untangling the purple yarn (with tiny sequins) this time. I still love the sequins!!!

Week 8 – 28 February 2016 / Sunday
9 cm x 17.5 cm – (s 6mm plastic)
double yarn – knit

I knitted with my magenta, flecked yarn for an hour while Skyping with my Mom. We deliberately Skyped so that we could both knit while we talked. She is working on a top for me out of the wool from ‘Ryya’ the sheep in Seattle.

I cast off the Time Piece in early evening and spent the later part of the evening knitting more with the same magenta yarn – starting my ‘Month of Sundays’ sideline piece. I cast on 24 like the other swatches.
